Almost all fish (95%) are eaten after being printed because we use non-toxic acrylic paint that washes off easily with water. The few fish that aren't eaten are turned into bait for local fishermen to use!

Being a local, small business that emphasizes sustainability is really important to us! With our gyotaku fish printing, we ensure that ALL fish are eaten or used for bait after being printed. We often catch the fish ourselves or get them from our friends here on Lana'i. They are then printed and eaten for dinner all in the same night! With our shell jewelry, we only believe in taking empty shells from the ocean! This is very critical to our business motto. We never remove shells that are alive or inhabited by a hermit crab. With all of our packaging materials, we try our best to upcycle and re-use all shipping materials! Our trash gets a second life to protect your treasure.
