ORIGINAL Gyotaku piece.

Size: Approximately 72" x 37"

Thomas brought me his 37 lb giant trevally that he caught shore casting and using slide bait. I was able to print his fish with the slide bait/ hook set up just as it was when he snagged the fish.  Slide baiting is a common technique used here in Hawaii to catch giant trevally from shore, especially from cliffsides.  Once the weight and line are cast into the water, a separate rig with hook and bait are slid down the line to attract the fish.  It was really fun and very unique to recreate this entire scene with the actual set-up used.

Media: Acrylic paint, water color pencils, Prismacolor pencils
